Direct Your Health with Terrick – Make Your Workout More Fun with Your Favorite Shows

This article is not for those that have a passion for working out, running, training, cross-fitting, power lifting, cycling, rowing, etc. This article is for those of us that like to work out or understand the importance of staying active but a lot of the time we’re bored or have a hard time staying engaged with our daily exercise regimen.  I will assume 4 things during this article: you have a smart phone or device, wear a health & fitness wearable device, have a streaming media account, and walk anywhere for physical activity or work out at a gym.

Sweat and Stream
With so much entertainment out there in the world, there are tons of shows to choose from. With the emergence of online or streaming content, it is easy to gain a lot of new favorites and you can spice up your workouts while watching these shows.  I recently discovered a few shows that I wanted to catch up on, so since my workouts were dragging I decided to watch them on my tablet while I work out.  This has really given me a different focus when entering the gym. I usually have to psyche myself up to do my workout.  As I’m sure many of you can relate, the routine becomes redundant and boring, which can demotivate you.  Instead of struggling just to get out of bed and head over to the gym, you can now catch or stay up on new shows while staying active. A show that runs 45 minutes – 1 hour can help you get around 7,500 to 10,000 steps depending on the stride of your walk or run while on the treadmill.

Time flies while enjoying your favorite show.  This makes the workout go a lot smoother, faster, and minimize the “drag” thinking.  By the time you leave the gym, you should about 11,000 – 12,000 total steps.  If you take into account your total day, you should be able to achieve 15,000 steps or more total.  There is plenty of entertainment to watch as you work out, so you will not run out of content.  If you’re in a comfortable area for walking then pull out your smart phone and enjoy the same content as you get your steps in.  Walking for about an hour and 25 minutes should get you a total of 9,500 – 10,000 steps.

Remember, physical activity should already be a part of your day with your daily activities like taking the stairs, doing laundry, shopping for groceries, etc. This is how you can increase your activity steps and lose weight.  Make sure you are also eating a well-balanced diet.  Your diet should consist of fruit, water, lean meats, whole grains, and vegetables eaten throughout the day.  Now go out and enjoy your show & workout!
