direct energy innovation to innovation

Direct Energy Makes a Splash at Beakerhead in Calgary

The Direct Energy Innovation to Inspiration mobile exhibit recently crossed the border to make its Canadian debut! This three-stop Alberta tour featured a range of highlights, including touring the Minister of Energy through the exhibit, teaching our Alberta employees about the exciting innovations and services we plan to bring to Alberta (such as our partnership with panoramic power), and having people line up at Beakerhead Festival’s Beakernight to tour the mobile exhibit!

Various legislative assembly members, MLAs, members from the Department of Energy, energy industry professionals, Direct Energy and Centrica employees, students, families and the general public of Calgary toured through the exhibit. They left with a heightened understanding about our tools and services and were genuinely excited as we discussed the future of energy in Alberta.

Margaret McCuaig-Boyd, the Minister of Energy in the Alberta Cabinet, was very interested in a variety of Direct Energy products and services.

Direct Energy also helped to offset Alberta’s energy use throughout the tour September 16-19, 2015 by providing 10,000 Kilowatt Hours of Renewable Energy certificates. By purchasing RECs, Direct Energy is helping to invest in the Canadian economy and the development of new, renewable electricity generation technologies that could fuel businesses and consumers in the future.
