CPL Retail Energy and One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating Team Up to Benefit Corpus Christi Chapter
Earlier this month, CPL Retail Energy (part of the Direct Energy family of brands serving South Texas) and One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating teamed up to donate and install two new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units at the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Bend.

This Boys & Girls Club chapter had been without air conditioning in its main banquet hall for several days after two HVAC units broke the previous week – units that were initially installed when the building was built in 1957 (almost 60 years ago!).

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend, formerly known as Boys & Girls Clubs of Corpus Christi, was established in 1957 and serves approximately 200 youth ages 6-18 years old through after-school and summer programs. The goal of the Boys & Girls Club is to offer a safe, positive environment and encourage students to graduate from high school.

CPL Retail Energy donated the funds to purchase the new HVAC units and a team of One Hour technicians worked throughout the day to install the new units. CPL Retail Energy also donated 200 Honeywell thermostats for the kids to take home to their families. These thermostats are wifi-enabled and allow users to set schedules and control temperatures remotely.
