Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas Take Action

We could not be more excited about our partnership with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. One of the GSNETX’s three keys to leadership is TAKE ACTION. With this in mind, the Girl Scouts are promoting exercise, community service and energy efficiency through the 10.11.12 initiative.

The 10.11.12 initiative is a commitment to the community for another year of service. The idea is that each number represents a project: 10: exercise for 10 days (or longer), 11: “Electric 11” is finding 11 zombie electronics in your house and unplugging them and 12: make a difference and donate 12 non-perishable food items to a local food bank.

So far, more than 2,500 Girl Scouts have picked up a Direct Energy reusable grocery bag from GSNETX shops to deliver canned good items to local food banks.

We, along with GSNTEX, hope this initiative will inspire not only Girl Scouts, but also entire communities to step up and help their world in a sustainable way.
