Direct Energy Buzz September 30 edition

Hello! Happy Friday! Welcome back to another edition of the Direct Energy Buzz where we fill you in on all the things that have happened over the past week on our Facebook, Twitter and Blog.

This was a week of celebrations! Google celebrated its 13th anniversary this week. Have you seen the cool doodles Google does each year to celebrate its anniversary?

We also celebrated National Coffee Day on Thursday. We think this holiday should come around more than just once a year!

Have you heard about Direct Energy’s Power-To-Go plan? It’s a simple, convenient plan that let’s you pay for your electricity as you use it.

The weather is getting cooler and cooler so we informed our blog readers of some great ways to save energy during late summer and early fall. For instance, lowering your programable thermostat just 2 degrees can save you approximately four percent on your electric bill.

Speaking of savings, we offered some tips for saving money when you dine out.

Right now we are gearing up for an event near and dear to us. On October 4, a group of volunteers will descend on the fields of Whittamore’s Farm in support of Ontario food banks in time for Thanksgiving. Over the past three years, the Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB), Whittamore’s Farm and Direct Energy have sent 20,000 pounds of produce to the tables of local families, in the name of reducing hunger.

Lastly, we want to tell you about a great opportunity to join our team here at Direct Energy. This week’s Job of the Week is a Public Relations Specialist in Edmonton, Canada. Check out our LinkedIn profile for more career opportunities at Direct Energy.

We hope you have a great weekend and we’ll see you back here next week!
