It’s Friday again and it’s time for another installment of our Friday recap! We hope everyone had a great time celebrating Halloween over the past weekend and loaded up on lots of candy Monday night trick-or-treating. To wrap up our (electronic) zombie preparedness month of October we reminded you to unplug if you’re not using! Hope everyone had fun with all of our zombie lingo…we’re already excited for next October to roll around.
Tuesday was an exciting day for us! Our Energy Star big winners deserve a shout out- Congratulations Susan, Mike, and Sylvie! Your great contributions really stood out and we hope you love your Energy Star prizes. Everyone stay tuned for us to announce our next big contest for your chance to be our future winner!
On Wednesday, we brought some good-hearted news to your attention. The Disney Store is now offering a holiday gift for a good cause. For each plush Minnie or Mickey sold, $1 of the proceeds will go to benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation of America. All of you holiday shopping early birds should be sure to check that out!
Also, November 1st means Movember has officially begun! We shared that men from the Weather Channel team are getting involved and growing out some bushy moustaches to raise money and awareness for men’s health issues and prostate cancer. We think it’s an awesome cause and we can’t wait to see their results!
Thursday we were wondering, have you invested a lot of time and money into making your home more energy efficient? If so, GO YOU! The Sensible Accounting to Value Energy (SAVE) Act wants to begin factoring energy performance into home values! Woohoo, we love hearing that!
Today we’re bringing a quirky and cool story your way. Artist Benoit Maubrey has turned 1,000 recycled speakers and a piece of the Berlin Wall into a mega speaker to amplify people’s voices. People can call into a hotline and speak their thoughts via an answering machine to hear them amplified. Pretty neat stuff!
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Check back in next week for more from us!
