Direct Energy Buzz – February 17 edition

Is it just us or did this week fly by? It is always nice to have a mid-week holiday! We hope everyone’s Valentine’s Day was happy and full of chocolates and flowers. Since February is the month of love, we have been sharing the many ways you can show some love to your environment! Check out what you may have missed on our Facebook page this week.

On Valentine’s Day we reminded you that Mother Nature needs some attention. Did you know that roughly 40% of food prepared doesn’t get eaten? Consider composting as a solution for this problem! Leftovers can take on a whole new meaning and purpose with this plan in action.

Then, Wednesday, we had a similar idea to kick off a recycling program at your office. We posted a step-by-step guide and one of our readers suggested bringing your own mug to work instead of getting a new Styrofoam one everyday. We love all of the recommendations! What do you think?

Thursday we shared something we’ve never thought of before! Cleaning is such a hassle, so we’re always on the lookout to make it more efficient. Have you considered using dryer sheets to clean your baseboards? We hadn’t either! Read up on this great idea.

We invite you to join us in our poll question for the week! With six more weeks of winter ahead of us, what do you turn to when the weather turns chilly? Do you take comfort in hot chicken noodle soup or chili? Vote now!

This week sure has flown by. We hope you’ve been sharing the love this week and all through the month of February. Check back in next Friday with us!
