Celebrating Women and Food!

Not only is March Women’s History Month, it’s also National Nutrition Month! As we close out the month, we thought it would be appropriate to share some nutritious recipes from some of our favorite female chefs!

Julia Child is known for bringing French cuisine to the American table. While French cuisine isn’t always nutritious, Child taught us a few valuable and healthy lessons: eat REAL food (think farmers markets), moderation is key, and enjoy the kitchen—don’t stress! Click here for some healthy Julia-inspired recipes.

Alice Waters a.k.a., the founder of California cuisine loves fresh, local produce as much as we do! Click here for a green recipe from Alice Waters’ The Simple Art of Food.

As the first and only female Iron Chef, Cat Cora knows good food! The chef and philanthropist is the co-founder of Chefs for Humanity, spokesperson for UNICEF, and the face behind some of these fabulous healthy grill recipes.

We love food and these famous women are certainly experts! Of course we are forgetting a few ladies that deserve recognition…your mothers! Do you have any family recipes that were passed down from the women in your family? Share them with us in the comments section!
