Direct Energy Buzz – May 25th edition

What a week!  If you were in the path of the super annular eclipse you were treated to a rare sight – the rest of us will have to make do with lots of fantastic photos and some bright ideas on saving and doing more for the planet, compliments of Direct Energy.

We started the week with some green advice for anyone facing a move this summer – there are some really smart and practical tips for sustainable moving and packing here.

No matter where you live, you need to check out our post about pending changes in rules on incandescent light bulbs.  You may have heard lots of stories and rumors about this new legislation, and it’s time to make sense of it all.  Our Twitter team started the week off in similar fashion, with breaking news on an innovative new LED lamp.

If you’re contemplating a new car, you might already know that fuel efficiency is now the number one concern of new car buyers.  If you’re a Direct Energy Twitter follower, you already have that link as well as an interesting discussion on five ways cell phones are helping environmentalism.

Finally, if all this talk about fuel efficiency and light bulb legislation has you stressed out, our Facebook team has some soothing news: mint green is here to stay.  It’s a good look for summer and a gentle reminder all at the same time: green is good!

Special thanks to the San Mateo County Library for the photo!
