Direct Energy Buzz – November 25th edition

Hello again! We hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and is still enjoying leftovers today. You’ll certainly need the fuel for the Black Friday shopping madness, which is ensuing everywhere today! Take time to enjoy this nice long weekend with family and friends and catch up with what’s been going on with us in this installment of our Buzz Blog Post.

Let’s recap this week for everything that has happened on our Blog, Facebook and Twitter! Monday we were getting you prepared with some delicious Thanksgiving side dishes ideas. Perhaps this Southern Living Recipe Guide will give you some inspiration for next year, or even for next week if you’re feeling ambitious! These ideas are great for the entire holiday season!

Also on Monday we announced how happy we are to be apart of KILT’s 10 Man Jam this year, featuring artists like Jack Ingram, Gary Allan, Clay Walker, and the JaneDear Girls! Win tickets to be there with us at www.DirectEnergy.com/KILT . See you at the show!

Have you been wishing you used your smartphone for something, well, smart? Here’s the great app we brought to you on Tuesday! Consider downloading some energy efficient apps to have right at your fingertips. Figure out what light bulbs you need and monitor your energy usage! Wednesday, we brought some interesting Thanksgiving facts your way! 2011 has been crazy weather-wise and Huffington Post told us how it affected our Thanksgiving meal! Over 4,000 turkeys died in a heat wave this year and $90,000 worth of wheat was lost in flooding. So having all the ingredients to include in your big feast this year was really something to be thankful for.

We also brought some ideas your way about how to keep energy efficient in your own kitchen whether cooking for a big holiday or family dinner! We’re all about going green—it would be a great New Year’s Resolution for you to join in 2012!

We wrap up this week’s post with a great pecan pie recipe (our favorite)! Now go munch on those leftovers and we’ll be back here next week!
